Journeying through life with curiosity and courage

An intimate journey to
lead beyond borders

Moroccan Horizons is not a vacation with a workshop attached. It is eight deliberate days in which the place itself does part of the coaching — where a courtyard at dusk, a dye-pit at noon, and a table of women who built businesses from nothing all press the same question: what kind of leader are you becoming?

You will reconnect with your identity, vision, and purpose. You will experience Morocco through curated culture and genuine adventure — not a coach tour. And you will return with clarity, renewed confidence, and bold next steps you can name out loud.

“The distance you travel outward is only useful if it moves something inward.”

Scenes from Morocco — architecture, markets, and landscape

The three threads of the week

Culture, coaching,
and community

01

Cultural Immersion

Carpet cooperatives and dye-pits. A guided souk tour with someone who knows which door to open. Authentic Moroccan meals taken the way they are meant to be taken — slowly, at a riad table, in company.

02

Transformational Coaching

Guided reflection on what the day surfaced, personal goal-setting with real accountability, and strategies for the obstacles you already know are waiting for you at home.

03

Women Who Build

Meetings with inspiring local women — cooperative founders, artisans, and entrepreneurs — whose leadership was forged in conditions most boardrooms never contemplate.

April 10–18, 2027 · Eight nights

The rhythm of the week

Marrakech is your home base for the full eight nights — one riad, one unpacking, no dawn transfers. Days alternate between immersion and integration, with excursions into the Atlas, the valleys, and the coast.

01Arrival

Marrakech · Arrival & welcome

Private transfer from Marrakech Menara, then the riad — courtyard, tilework, silence after the street. Settle in, then gather for a welcome reception and dinner where the group becomes a group.

Marrakech
02Orientation

The Medina & Bahia Palace

Morning coaching session to set your intention for the week. Then Bahia Palace, the Saadian quarter, and a first walk into the medina — followed by Djemaa el Fna as the light goes and the square changes character entirely.

Moroccan medina architecture
03Craft

Guided souk tour & artisan cooperatives

A guided souk tour built for understanding rather than shopping: dye-pits, tanneries, metalwork, and a carpet cooperative where you sit, drink tea, and learn what each knot means before anyone mentions a price.

Moroccan craft and architecture
04Altitude

The High Atlas & Berber villages

Out of the city and up — switchbacks, terraced valleys, snow on the peaks into spring. Lunch in a Berber village, a walk with a local specialist, and an afternoon reflection session with the mountains doing the talking.

Atlas Mountains
05Women who build

Women's cooperative & leadership circle

A morning with the founders and members of a women's cooperative, then the week's central working session: what their model of leadership reveals about yours, and what you are prepared to change.

Moroccan cuisine
06Coast

Essaouira · Atlantic day

West to the coast: the UNESCO medina, the Skala fortress ramparts, blue boats in the harbour, and an argan-oil cosmetics cooperative run entirely by women. Wind, salt, and a different pace of thinking.

Essaouira
07Desert edge

Valleys, kasbahs & the gateway to the Sahara

Palm oases, the Dades and Todra landscapes, and the earthen kasbahs on the old caravan trail. An evening under a sky with no competition from city light — and the week's most honest conversation.

Erfoud — gateway to the Sahara
08Integration

Gardens, hammam & the commitment session

A slower day by design: gardens, a traditional hammam, unstructured hours. Then the closing session — bold next steps written down, spoken aloud, and witnessed — followed by a farewell dinner in the riad.

Your host

Dr. Sabine Charles

Creator of the Leadership MEQ™ framework and founder of TAPA Institute, Dr. Sabine Charles has spent her career helping women move from competence to authority — and from authority to influence that outlasts the role.

Leadership MEQ™ works on the parts of leadership that credentials do not touch: how you read a room, hold a boundary, recover from a setback, and decide what you will not trade away. Morocco is where that work happens outside the pressure of your own calendar.

Before you book

Questions, answered

Who is this retreat for?

Women in leadership — executives, founders, senior professionals, and those stepping into a bigger role — who want structured reflection rather than another conference. No prior Leadership MEQ™ experience is required, and many participants arrive on their own.

Do I need to travel with someone?

No. Most participants come solo. The group is deliberately small, the schedule is built for connection, and the riad becomes a shared home very quickly.

What are the accommodations like?

Eight nights in a charming Marrakech riad — a traditional courtyard house, restored, quiet, and central. One property for the whole stay, so you unpack once.

How physically demanding is the week?

Moderate. Expect walking on uneven medina streets, some stairs, and a few longer drives on excursion days. There is deliberate downtime built into every day, and no activity is compulsory.

What is the coaching component, exactly?

Group sessions with Dr. Sabine Charles throughout the week — intention-setting, reflection tied to what the day surfaced, goal definition, and obstacle strategy — plus one private 45-minute session with her after you return home.

What about flights and insurance?

International airfare and travel insurance are not included in the $7,997 investment. Travel insurance is required. We will share arrival and departure windows for Marrakech Menara (RAK) so your transfers line up with the group.

Can my employer sponsor my place?

Frequently, yes. Leadership development budgets exist for exactly this. Review the sponsorship programmes or book a consultation and we will help you build the case.
